Dani Mari Presents “Crazy” A Tribute to Patsy Cline and Willie Nelson
Cameo Gallery, 93 North 6th Street, Brooklyn
Though we’ll never get to enjoy a show from the late, great Patsy Cline, there’s a show that’s keeping her spirit alive in a back room in Brooklyn. Cozied up inside Cameo Gallery this Monday, local singer Dani Mari will croon favorites from both Cline and “Crazy” counterpart Willie Nelson. Mari’s long resume includes singing alongside St. Lucia, Twin Sister, EXITMUSIC, WIDOWSPEAK, Mates of State, Patti Smith, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Of Montreal, so the audience will be in for a treat.

Gotham Writers Workshop Fall Open House
555 8th Avenue and 1450 Broadway, Manhattan
Maya Angelou once said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” Now, we’re not partial to agony, so lucky for us this Tuesday and Wednesday, the popular Gotham Writers Workshop is hosting its fall open house, where they’ll offer free one-hour classes on a wide-variety of subjects. Meet the instructors, get some writing done, get $30 off your first 6 or 10-week class, plus dig into some free wine and treats. According to the organizers, “You may sign up for one or two free classes, but no more than two. Registration is required, but if the class you want is full, feel free to walk in. Odds are good we’ll find you a seat.” Huzzah!

What happens where music, art, technology and design intersect? A big ol’ week-long party in NYC, naturally. Sonos Studios sets up shop at Neuehouse in the Flatiron District, starting this Tuesday. Some seriously big names stud the long lineup of events, including the likes of Devonté Hynes (aka Blood Orange), Spoon, Aloe Blacc, Mikky Ekko and Talib Kweli. Throughout the week, they’ll be on hand for sound installations, creative workshops, film screenings, discussions, live performances and listening parties at Neuehouse in Flatiron. Admission is free to each event, but spots are filling up fast, so we’d recommend a speedy RSVP.

Arrested Development Bingo
Videology, 308 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn
“I’ve made a huge mistake!” ...is what you will be saying if you do not go out this Wednesday night for a round of Arrested Development Bingo at Videology. Every Hump Day (as Tobias would happily call it) the video-store-turned-bar plays episodes of the show while folks cover slots on their cards. This week, you’ll want to “watch for things like the stair car, the banana stand, and White Power Bill” and “listen for quotes like ‘no touching’ and the surprisingly pervasive ‘buddy.’” Whoever gets a BINGO wins a free drink or a free frozen banana. (Also, if you arrive as a “never nude” you’ll also get a free drink AND a free frozen banana because you are an amazing human being.) Admission is free.
