Feelin' lucky? Allow us to remind you that today is Friday the 13th, international day of the luckless. But just because your rate of unluckiness increases exponentially today doesn't mean you should spend all weekend hiding from it. There is a whole mess of good things happening in Atlanta this weekend, and to be honest, these three are just the tip of the iceberg. Whether you're partying in a basement or chilling at a green community's Mayday celebration (or both), you'll most certainly be better off there than staying in watching Freaky Friday on repeat.

WE DON'T WANT TO MISS:

SPRINGFEST AT TWAIN'S
Saturday, May 14, 1 p.m. - Midnight
It's billed by Twain's as "a musical event of historic proportions," and we're pretty sure that the proportions of this day-long fest will indeed be historical. You'll find us sipping on Twain's brews, gobbling up the smoked pork sandwiches, and dancing to musical performances from local acts like Gentleman Jesse, Blair Crimmins and the Hookers, Mermaids, and more. Might even ask Imperial Opa to show us their circus tricks, because they'll be there, too. The best part? All ticket proceeds benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

THE 6TH ANNUAL MAYDAY CELEBRATION AT SERENBE
Saturday, May 14, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Sometimes, you just gotta get out of the city, see some nature, get in touch with your inner child... you know the drill. Atlanta's favorite little eco-community, Serenbe, is hosting their 6th annual Mayday (pictured) celebration this weekend, and it's pretty much guaranteed to be a lively little hootenanny. What with all the bluegrass, food trucks, farmstands, idyllic surroundings, and more, we'd be surprised if you ever actually left Palmetto.

PURGE ATL PARTY AT THE BASEMENT
Friday, May 13, 9:30 p.m. - 3 a.m.
We like the way Purge think: why fight Friday the 13th when you can just, you know, roll with the punches? Purge ATL and Gorehound Productions are throwing a bash in the Basement, EAV's favorite new music venue beneath the Graveyard. $10 gets you a raging party with sets by Cousin Dan, Barreracudas, Royal Thunder, and Black Sunshine. Oh, and Only You Tattoo is providing discounted inking services the day-of, and you can save $3 of the admission price by showing up with a fresh tat from them. Pretty sweet way to get a discount, we must say.
