A family-owned, chef-owned grill built from the ground up almost two decades ago and still serving up the same fantastic falafel to this day.Yes, their walls are plastered with various "Best of Atlanta" awards. Yes, glowing newspaper reviews are a dime a dozen in here. But the awards, plaques, and newspaper clippings are nothing compared to the sheer love and loyalty people have for Mediterranean Grill. Weekly regulars, from families to students, know the owners by name and their orders by heart. "We're old-school in everything we do," says Emad, pointing to their fresh ingredients, made-to-order dishes, and treating both customers and employees like family.
It's not just a place where the gyros are juicy, the lamb shanks are tender, and the Greek potatoes are crispy and perfectly seasoned. It's a family-owned, chef-owned place, built from the ground up almost two decades ago and it's still serving up the same fantastic falafel to this day. And after tasting their Greek potatoes or their shish kabob sandwich, you'll understand why this place has had a following for nearly two decades. Sam says he makes regular trips to the farmers markets for produce, and consistently uses the actual Mediterranean ingredients that make this place legit (in his words, if you're gonna serve Mediterranean food, using the right olive oil is a no-brainer). About fifteen years ago, you couldn't really find that kind of Mediterranean food in Atlanta, which is exactly why Sam moved from Chicago to bring a slice of Greektown to our city. Since then, their gyros (that's "yeer-ohs" to you), affordable prices, and fresh, made-to-order cuisine have made up some of the best Greek food this side of the Aegean... and gives Atlanta our own version of a little Greektown.
